Bavarian Cabbage

Ingredients:

   4      slices        bacon -- cubed
   6      cups          cabbage -- shredded
                        salt and pepper -- to taste
   2                    sour apples -- peeled,cored,siced
   3      whole         cloves
   1      cup           boiling water
   3      tablespoons   flour
     1/8  teaspoon      cinnamon
     1/4  cup           brown sugar
   2      Tbsps.        vinegar -- (2 to 4)
 

Preparation:

1. Fry bacon. Remove bacon from pan and drain. To fat in pan add cabbage, salt, pepper, apples and cloves. Pour on boiling water and cook slowly for 15 minutes. 2. Combine flour, cinnamon, brown sugar and vinegar, add to cabbage 3. Heat and serve hot, topped with bacon.
