Ingredients:

  2               cups  sugar
     1/2           cup  white corn syrup
     1/2           cup  water
  1               tsp.  extract of peppermint
 

Preparation:

Place first three ingredients in sauce pan. Boil without stirring until crack stage (be careful of temp.) Remove from heat. Add 1 tsp extract of pepermint. Divide in 2 parts. To one part add red food coloring. Pour on buttered platters (ceramic). When cool enough, pull each separately. Then twist 1 around the other. Form into canes or sticks. >From experience, I found the white part was not really white. I added green food coloring to one and red to the other. Also, they looked much nicer with just one color instead of twisting them around. Good Luck!
