Rotelle In Tex-Mex Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

  12            ounces  safeway rotelle pasta
  1              pound  lean ground beef or turkey
  1            package  taco seasoning -- (1 .25 ounces)
  1                can  peeled diced tomatoes with juice -- (28 ounces)
     1/2           cup  water
     1/2      teaspoon  salt or to taste
  1                cup  shredded cheddar cheese
 

Preparation:

Cook rotelle according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute meat until most of the pink is gone, breaking it into small pieces. Stir in taco seasoning, tomatoes with juice, water and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain pasta and place in a large bowl. Add sauce and toss to coat. Sprinkle cheese over each serving. Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Makes: 6 servings
