Ingredients:

  1               head  romaine lettuce -- separated
  1 1/2    tablespoons  balsamic vinegar
  1              clove  garlic -- minced
     1/8      teaspoon  salt
     1/4           cup  olive oil
     1/3           cup  parmesan cheese -- shredded
                        black pepper -- ground
 

Preparation:

1. Place romaine in a salad bowl 2. In a small bowl mix vinegar, garlic, and salt. Using a whisk or fork, gradually beat in oil until well blended. 3. Mix dressing and cheese lightly with romaine. Grind pepper over each serving to taste.
