Beef And Biscuit Casserole

Ingredients:

   1 1/4  pounds        ground beef
     1/2  cup           chopped onion
     1/4  cup           diced green pepper
   1      can           tomato sauce -- (8 oz.)
   2      teaspoons     chili powder
     3/4  teaspoon      garlic salt
   1      package       refrigerator buttermilk biscuits -- (8 oz.) (can)
     1/2  cup           sour cream
   1                    egg -- slightly beaten
   1      cup           cheddar cheese -- shredded
 

Preparation:

Brown beef, onion and green pepper in pan; drain off excess fat. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic salt; simmer while preparing dough. Separate biscuits into 10, then separate each one into 2 parts. Press 10 pieces in bottom of ungreased 8 or 9 inch scquare pan. Combine 1/2 cup cheese, sour cream and egg and mix. Remove meat from heat; stir in sour cream mix- ture and spoon over dough. Arrange remaining biscuits on top of casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 25 to 30 minutes in 3750 oven or until biscuits are golden brown.
