Preparation:
In a 2-quart stock pot, saut‚ ground beef, onions and peppers over medium heat until browned. Add garlic, chili powder and cumin. Add water, contents of seasoning packet, and rice and beans. Mix well and simmer for 25 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic. Simmer additional 10 minutes. Garnish with shredded cheese, chopped fresh tomatoes, and chopped jalapeno peppers. Salt and pepper to taste. |
