Lima-Meatball Stew

Ingredients:

     1/2  pound         bulk pork sausage
   1                    egg -- beaten
     1/2  cup           fine dry bread crumbs -- (i use wheat germ)
     1/2  cup           onion -- chopped
     1/4  cup           green bell pepper -- chopped
     1/2  teaspoon      dried marjoram -- crushed (optional,
                        -- but good)
     1/2  teaspoon      salt
   1      pound         ground chuck -- extra lean
   2      tablespoons   all-purpose flour
   2      cans          lima beans -- 16 oz.
     1/2  teaspoon      beef-flavored gravy base
 

Preparation:

In a skillet cook sausage till lightly browned, drain. Transfer to crock pot. Combine egg, crumbs, onion, green pepper, marjoram, salt and pepper Add ground beef, mix well. Shape the mixture into 30 meatballs. In same skillet brown meatballs on all sides, drain, reserving drippings. Stir flour into drippings. Drain limas, reserving liquid. Blend bean liquid slowly into flour mixture add gravy base and dash pepper. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Combine gravy and beans with sausage in cooker, add meatballs, Cover , cook on low heat for 8-9 hours. Sprinkle green peppers atop Serve 6 to 8
