Preparation:
*you may omit egg and use 1/2 cup water
Beat egg, water and sugar until very light. Add baking powder mixing well. Add food coloring and pepperment extract mixing well. Add Flour. Knead until thoroughly mixed. Chill the dough overnight. Shape into small balls (smaller than a marble). Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake on greased cookie sheets (or on baking parchment) until very lightly browned. (15-20 minutes). Shut off oven, leaving cookies in oven until completely cooled. PFEFFERNUSSE ARE MEANT TO BE VERY CRUNCHY. |
