Preparation:
Bring to boil brown sugar, molasses and butter. Let mixture cool. Add eggs. Stir in brandy. Mix all dry ingredients together. Stir into mixture. Add citron and nuts. Gradually add flour until dough is stiff and then cut in cookie shapes or shape into a sausage-like rolls (about size of a 50 cent piece, about 12 inches long). Refrigerate overnight (old cooks say 8 days!).
Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes, just lightly browned and turning a little lighter in color. Too long will be too hard, too little will be doughy. If in doubt sample a slightly cooled cookie.
