Creamy Rice Pudding

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup rice -- uncooked
1/2 Cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Cups evaporated milk
2 Cups hot water
 

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in top of double boiler. Cook, covered over boiling water until liquid is absorbed, about 2 hours. Chill. Serve plain or with shaved mapel sugar, whipped cream or any suitable sauce you choose.
