Teriyaki Steak

Ingredients:

4 small 3/4 inch thick NY strip steaks or 2-3 lb flank steaks
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 pieces gingerroot -- peel, grate
5 cloves garlic -- crushed
1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
 

Preparation:

Trim and score the steaks. Arrange steak in shallow dish. Combine remaining ingredients and blend well. Pour over steak. Cover and marinate in refrigerator at least 3 hrs or overnight, turning occasionally. Broil or grill to desired doneness. If using flank steak, slice diagonally across grain before serving.
