Apple-Honey Rice

Ingredients:

250 grams rice -- boiled and drained
2 Cup ghee
2 medium Onions -- finely chopped
4 medium apples -- (peeled, cored and grated)
1 medium lemon -- juice of
1 teaspoon salt -- to taste
3 tablespoons honey
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash few strands saffron - (dissolved in a little warm milk)
1 Cup walnuts -- shelled and chopped
 

Preparation:

(Rice lightly flavored with apple and honey) Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and fry the chopped onion until crisp. Remove from ghee and keep aside. Add the cooked rice and sauté for two minutes. Add lime juice and salt to the grated apples and mix lightly. Add the seasoned apples to the cooked rice and mix lightly. Add honey, nutmeg powder and saffron to the rice and keep stirring on low heat for five minutes. Serve hot, garnished with walnuts.
