Preparation:
Prepare pie crust mix as directed on package. Line 9-inch pie pan with half the pastry, rolled thin. Combine sugar and spices; add to apples; mix lightly. Pour into pastry-lined pie pan. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter or margarine. Roll out remaining pastry; sprinkle with cheese; dot with remaining butter. Roll up like jelly roll; fold ends to center; fold again to center; fold again in middle; roll out thin. Place cheese pastry over apples; trim edges; press together with fork, or flute. Cut gashes in top to allow steam to escape. Bake at 400F for 50 to 60 minutes, or until apples are tender. |
