Preparation:
Makes 4 dozen
1. Blend margarine, brown sugar, egg yolk, vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon salt; stir in flour.
2. Spread mixture in 13 x 9-inch pan; bake in preheated 350 F. oven 20 minutes.
3. Cool slightly.
4. Combine shortening, butterscotch pieces, corn syrup, water and remaining salt in saucepan.
5. Heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and glossy.
6. Spread over baked dough; sprinkle on currants and nuts.
7. Allow topping to set before cutting. |
