Oatmeal Toffee Lizzies

Ingredients:

1/4 stick butter flavor vegetable shortening
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar -- firmly packed
1 large egg
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups quick-cooking oats -- uncooked
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 Cup almond brickle chips
1/2 cup pecans -- finely chopped
 

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets with shortening. Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling. Combine shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into creamed mixure at low speed just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips, almond chips, and pecans. Shape dough into 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inch balls with lightly floured hands. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cooking sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake one baking sheet at a time for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. (Do not overbake) Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to foil to cool completely.
