Preparation:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse and drain barley. In a 10-inch skillet, heat butter and brown the pine nuts (slivered almonds also work well). Remove the nuts with a slotted spoon. Saute onions and barley until barley is slightly toasted. Off the heat stir in the nuts and remaining ingredients. Bake the pilaf for 1 hour and 10 minutes. |
