Serves: 16 meat cakes
 

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage
1/2 cup minced onion
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 cup unprocessed bran
 

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all ingredients together well. Place 1/3 cup (2 oz.) mixture in each of 16 muffin cups. Bake at 350F. until done, about 1 hour. Remove from muffin tins. Serve hot or cold. Note: Nice for a picnic.
