Dijonnaise And Cheddar Spread

Serves: 1 cup
 

Ingredients:

1 Cup shredded Cheddar cheese
4 Ounces cream cheese -- softened (1/2 cup)
1/4 Cup dijonnaise mustard
 

Preparation:

1) In food processor or small bowl, beat cheeses with Dijonnaise. 2) Cover and chill 1 hour to blend flavours. Misc: Variations: 1) Add 2 tablespoons sherry 2) Add 1/2 teaspoon curry powder 3) Add 2 tablespoons finely chopped crisp bacon, or bacon bits Tip: 1) After longer storage, remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before serving to soften. 2) To reduce the fat content, use light cheeses. Serving Suggestion: Spread on crusty bread or buns for sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs. Or, garnish with minced parsley or paprika and serve with Melba toast.
