Make-Ahead Sandwiches

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3/4 cup onion -- chopped
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup dill or sweet pickles -- chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon hot sauce
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese -- shredded
12 medium hot dog buns
 

Preparation:

1. In a saucepan cook the beef and onion until beef is no longer pink; drain. 2. Stir in ketchup, pickles, salt, pepper, garlic powder and hot sauce; heat through. Stir in cheese. 3. Place about 1/3 cupful on 6 hotdog buns; serve immediately. To Freeze: Cover and refrigerate remaining mixture until cool. Fill the remaining buns; wrap individually in heavy duty foil and seal tightly. Freeze for up to 3 months. To cook frozen sandwiches, bake in foil at 400 for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
