Serves: 1 loaf

Ingredients:

3 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1/4 Teaspoon ground allspice
1 package dry yeast
1 cup milk
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons margarine
1 large egg
1/2 cup raisins

Preparation:

Combine half the flour (1 1/2 cups), sugar, cinnamon, salt, allspice, and yeast in large bowl. Combine milk, molasses, and margarine in small sauce pan and cook over low heat until margarine is melted. Allow to cool down so yeast will still be good and slowly add it to flour mixture while mixing at low speed. Mix until smooth, add egg and mix until smooth again. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes then stir in remaining flour and raisins. Coat a 9x5 inch pan and pour in mixture. Cover and let stand in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 40 minutes. Bake at 350 °F until golden in color, about 40 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.
