Ingredients:

---masala ingredients---
1 teaspoon black pepper
6 medium red chiles
1 tablespoon chana daal
1 tablespoon toor daal
1 tablespoon coriander seeds
1 tablespoon coconut -- (grated)
---spice ingredients---
1 teaspoon tamcon
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 dash turmeric
1/2 can tomatoes
1 teaspoon rice powder
1/4 teaspoon hing
 

Preparation:

Masala Preparation 1. Fry all ingredients (except coconut) in as little oil as possible. 2. Add coconut, grind (very fine) in blender. Spices Preparation 1. Heat oil, mustard seeds. 2. Add 4 cups water, tamcon, masala, turmeric, tomatoes, and salt to the pan. Boil for about 10 minutes. 3. Add hing, rice powder and stir to thicken. Boil for another minute or so.
