Onion Pie

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 Cup sliced or chopped onion
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/4 Cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1 dash cayenne
1 1/2 Cup sharp cheese -- grated
2 large eggs -- beaten
 

Preparation:

Combine the first 4 ingredients and line a deep pie pan, reserving 1/4 c. crumb mixture. Saute' the onions in butter, add milk, and when it is hot, stir in the remaining seasonings and cheese. Allow to cool a bit before adding the eggs. Pour the filling into the crust and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until set, at 325 F.
