Green Beans and Mushrooms Au Gratin

Ingredients:

1 package quick frozen french style green beans -- 9 oz
1 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cream of rice
1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 can b in b sliced or chopped mushrooms -- 3oz
 

Preparation:

Cook beans according to package directions; dreain. Combine milk and salt; scald. Sprinkle in cream of rice and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 4 minutes. Beat until smooth with an electric or hand beater or whir in a blender. Stir 1/4 cup cheese into sauce, then add mushrooms including broth. Combine with beans and pour into a lightly buttered shallow baking dish or pie dish. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven until hot and bubbling, about 15 minutes. Makes 2 to 3 servings.
