Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups cored and chopped tart apples
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup cider vinegar -- to 3/4, depending on tartness level desire
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 medium lemon -- peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon Watkins Ginger
1 teaspoon Watkins Seasoning Salt
1/8 teaspoon Watkins Cayenne (Red) Pepper
1 1/2 pounds ham steak -- 1/2 inch thick

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients, except ham, in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chutney begins to thicken (1 to 1 1/2 hours). Place ham steak on grill over medium coals and grill until edges are lightly browned (3 to 4 minutes). Turn ham steak over and spread with 1/4 cup chutney. Continue grilling until heated through (3 to 4 minutes). Cut ham into serving pieces and serve with additional warm chutney. Makes 6 servings.
