Preparation:
1. Prepare pie crust for one 9 inch unbaked pie crust.
2. Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Set aside.
3. Combine eggs, sugar, syrup, sour cream, coffee powder and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in chocolate mixture.
4. Pour into prepared pastry. Bake on bottom shelf at 350F for 40-50 minutes or until filling is set, puffed up and starting to crack on top. 5. Cool to room temperature. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes: The filling will rise up and crack during baking, and then sink slightly on cooling. You can flavour whipped cream with coffee flavour for a nice added touch. |
