Preparation:
1. Dissolve apple gelatin in boiling water; add cinnamon stick and let stand 15 minutes.
2. Remove cinnamon stick.
3. Drain mandarin oranges; reserve syrup.
4. Add enough cold water to syrup to measure 2 1/2 cups liquid; stir in dissolved gelatin.
5. Mix in oranges and strawberries; chill for several hours.
6. Portion soup into individual bowls; garnish each serving with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with slivered almonds. |
