Crockpot Applesauce with Cranberry Juice

Ingredients:

10 medium apples -- (10 to 12)
2 cups cranberry cocktail (juice)
1/2 medium juice from 1/4 to 1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons sugar (or more to taste)
1 package optional: craisins (dried sweetened cranberries) or dried cranberries
 

Preparation:

Wash, core, and chop (but don't peel) the apples. Squirt lemon juice on them as you chop to keep them from browning. Put them in crockpot. Pour cranberry juice and mix in sugar. Set crockpot to high for the first couple hours, then turn it to low for four to six hours. Stir occasionally and mush up the apples as they get soft. Taste and add sugar if it's too tart for you. If you want to add craisins or dried cranberries, add them about two hours before the end of cooking. Serve the applejuice warm (leftovers are good cold or warmed up).
