Apple Phyllo Bake

Ingredients:

1/2 pound butter room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 pound brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 dash salt
1 1/2 cups quick oats
1/2 cup flour
4 ounces raisins or 1/2 box
1/4 cup cinnamon
6 medium granny smith apples -- peeled, cored and sliced
1 package phyllo dough
1/4 pound melted butter
 

Preparation:

In a mixer set on medium speed, cream 1/2 pound butter with warm brown and granulated sugar. When butter sugar mixture is soft and fluffy, turn mixer to slow speed. Add vanilla, slt and slowly incorporate the flour, quick oats, cinnamon and raisins. Slowly stir in all but one of the sliced apples. In an individual 5-inch shallow boaking dish arrange 4 half sheets of phyllo dough across the dish letting edges hang over. Brush the phyllo with a little melted butter. Place enough mixture in each baking dish to fill to the rim. Fold phyllo edges over the mixture. Garnish with apple slices. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for approximately 15 minutes. Serve topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.
