2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 ounces white chocolate -- flaked

Preparation:

1. Combine the sugar, balsamic vinegar, and pepper in a medium non-reactive (stainless steel, glass, or ceramic) bowl. Add the strawberries and toss well to coat. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate flakes over the strawberries and serve. N: Although you will get this newsletter after Valentine's Day is over, we still think you might enjoy this recipe from Wen Zientek. There has been quite a bit of debate among Wen's taste testers as to whether the "surprise" describes the taste or the ingredients in this list. Both are surprising, but the taste is phenomenal. This combination of ingredients makes a nice change from ultra sweet desserts. The contrast of the strawberries, black pepper, and white chocolate is stunning. Because Valentineis Day is when we first see strawberries reach the market at reasonable prices, it makes a perfect treat to herald the coming of spring. Bittersweet chocolate also works well in place of the white chocolate. Be daring and try this odd combination, you will be glad that you
