Preparation:
Leave stick of butter out to soften. Butter should be spreadable when ready
to make cookies. Work Saffron and orange peel into the butter. Blend in
sugar, then egg yolks, one at a time. Add flour to form soft ball of dough.
Cover and chill for at least 3 hour.
When ready to bake, remove dough from refrigerator to soften slightly.
Preheat oven to 325. Pinch off small pieces of dough, rolling quickly into
small balls. Place on an ungreased cookies sheet 2" apart. Press with a
fork. Bake 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool on a cookie
rack. |
