Tuna Tips



Don’t buy tuna that is stored directly on ice; the contact will bleed out the color, nutrients and flavor.

Frozen tuna can be delicious! In fact, the Japanese flash freeze their catch immediately, which perfectly preserves freshness and flavor.

When purchasing tuna, try to buy yellowfin; the flavor is excellent, and it is more abundant than other types of tuna. (If possible, ask if the tuna is troll caught or long lined, the most environmentally friendly means of catching tuna).
