MYTH: There is no way to safely make a recipe that calls for raw eggs.



Raw eggs are a major concern in terms of food safety. Bacteria can get into the eggs when the shell is cracked and continue to grow in uncooked foods. Recipes that call for raw or undercooked eggs, like Caesar salad dressing and homemade ice cream, can be made with new treated egg products. Pasteurized egg products are easy to find. Eggs treated in the shell are becoming more common.
